Facilitated an anonymous haiku workshop
Haiku Canada Weekend 2018
Bishop’s University, Sherbrooke, Quebec

Marco was the first to introduce “anonymous workshops” at the annual Haiku Canada conferences, as a way for poets to collaboratively edit haiku while learning the craft. This is one of the most popular conference events, and a boon to novice poets who can learn more technique in an hour than they may from many years of solo study.

Performance by Marco Fraticelli & Terry Ann Carter
Haiku North America Conference
Union College, 807 Union Street
Schenectady, New York, USA

Marco performed a series of letters (imagined) from the perspective of Chiyo-ni, interspersed with his singing of a variety of popular songs and accompanying himself on electric piano whilst Terry Ann Carter, in Kabuki-style make-up, mimed and danced, holding up Chiyo-ni’s haiku on signs for the audience to read. The audience was captivated by the performance and gave both poets a standing ovation. It was exceptional and truly memorable.” — Jennifer Sutherland, A Hundred Gourds 5:2 March 2016, available here.
